19th Century continental presentation stemmed Pokal with lid, made of free-blown colorless non-lead glass. One side of the pokal’s conical cup is engraved with Demeter, Goddess of agriculture, within a foliate and scroll frame, the other side is engraved with a depiction of a large wreath with central inscription of “VIVA MU & LAETI DUM FATA. SINUNT. Engraved bowl sits on a hollow collared double inverted baluster stem with control bubbles in the knobs, domed base and polished pontil mark. 19th or 20th century. The base’s diameter is 4 ½ inches, the cup’s diameter is 4 1/8” and the pokal’s height is 12 ½ inches. Condition very good to excellent. $2100.
