20th century Meissen Porcelain Covered Round Box. Meissen porcelain was the first European hard-paste porcelain. Its signature logo, the crossed swords, was introduced in 1720, and is one of the oldest trademarks in existence. The porcelain covered box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the mid 20th century. Is it 3 1/2 inches in diameter and is 2 1/2 inches high. The porcelain is the finest quality ever made. It is beautifully hand painted with a yellow rose pattern, all around the box. The rims are trimmed with heavy gilding. Condition: Excellent. Blue crossed swords mark under glaze.
