MONT JOYE BY LEGRASS FRENCH EMERALD GREEN CAMEO ART GLASS VASE. C.A.1900’s

A early 20th century Mont Joye (Legras & Cie) French Art Nouveau period. Emerald green glass chipped glass textured body cameo cut gilded and silvered in pillow form shape, the crizzled body with two shades gold gilt and silver stylized acorn and oak leaf border to the shoulder, the base with gilt factory mark.  Gold hallmark on bottom - Mont Joye, L & C. circa 1900's  Condition: No chips, cracks or breaks. Shelf wear to the base. Size: 3 3/4" W x 2 3/4" D x 6" H Production Notes: Designed by Legras & Cie in St. Denis (today part of Paris) in about 1900 - 1910. The firm's glass was marked either "Legras", "L & Cie", "Sargel" (Legras backwards:", "Leg", (enameled) or "Mont Joye & Cie". After WWI, the firm merged with Pantin glass works to form Verreries et Christalleries de St. Denis et Pantin RTunies, but continued to use "Legras" Signature on some enameled or acid etched vases during 1920s & 30s. Condition: No chips, cracks or breaks. Shelf wear to the base.  During the first decade of the 1900s Legras & Cie became a major exponent of the École de Nancy (School of Nancy) led by Gallé. The firm produced a wide variety of commercial art-glass, both cameo and painted in enamels, but also made some large high-quality pieces for international exhibitions.
