This is an exquisite antique circa 1920s French Louis XV / XVI style marquetry cabinet with a marble top. Transitional period. There are beautiful floral marquetry inlay panels on the front and on each side of the cabinet. Along with elaborate marquetry, the cabinet is decorated with turned columns. Gilt bronze mounts in many shapes cover the cabinet. Most striking are the classical heads. There are bronze geometric patterns on the cabinet door and an elaborate bronze frieze runs across the cabinet. Bronze foliage scrolls add to the cabinet's beauty, and bronze capitals decorate it columns.
The cabinet's top is a deep green marble with black and white grains. It sits above a single pullout drawer and a single door opened to a fitted single shelve interior. The entire cabinet seats on four turned feet decorated with Ormolu mounts in the shape of a plaque.
The cabinet is structurally sound and in very good original condition - no losses to the marquetry or ormolu. It has its original shaped marble top without any chips or cracks.
