Interesting history surrounds the earliest Continental porcelain manufacturers. Unhappy that the German Meissen factory was the sole European manufacturer of porcelain, in 1718 entrepreneur Claude I. Du Paquier enticed Meissen craftsmen to come to Vienna, reveal the secret porcelain making process, and help him establish a porcelain factory, which ultimately became the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory. The hand painted porcelain making process, which had originated in China, continued to spread across Europe, as porcelain was valued by monarchs, aristocrats and discerning collectors. LR Antiques has an exceptionally large collection of Antique Continental and European Porcelain. We sell Antique KPM Porcelain, Antique Meissen Porcelain, Antique Royal Vienna Porcelain and Antique Sèvres Porcelain. Our collection includes Wedgwood as well. LR Antiques has available many other types of Antique Pottery and Ceramics, acquired on European buying trips and at estate sales, to please our customers.
