This vintage solid silver flask features a beautiful engraving of the steam boat “Marie” on the water and flying ducks in the sky. A precision-engineered hinged top engraved with “H.D.W. from K.V.R.”. This hip flask was given to H.D.W. to commemorate a memorable voyage on the steam boat “Marie”. Flasks such as this were originally carried by British aristocrats while foxhunting on their country estates in their red coats or “hunting pinks”.
It is properly marked by: Sterling, Black, Star & Frost, C955, 1pt.
Black, Starr and Frost were formed in 1874 as the successors to Ball, Black & Company.
