Antique Louis XIV Oak Set Six (6) Chairs. Dining-Kitchen. France. 19th Century

An Exceptional French Late 19^th early 20^th century Regency Louis XV style marble top  Presidential Bureau Plat. The three-drawer desk has a veneer as well as mounted Bronze ormolu. The rectangular marble top is inserted within an ormolu molded frame decorated with rocaille-cast clasps on each corner. At the scalloped shaped frieze is a central recessed drawer flanked by foliate Rococo C-shaped scrolls, and drawers on each side. Each drawer is elaborately bordered with foliate scrolled ormolu mounts with ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The back is similarly decorated with the same design on its three faux drawers. On each side are exquisite ormolu mounts of female masks amidst foliate patterns and ormolu frame. On the reverse side are three similar decorative false drawers. On each corner are richly chased mounts of helmeted female maidens, atop cabriole legs terminated with foliate wraparound ormolu acanthus sabots.
